Our shop is a tribute to Danielle Bonardel's late brother, John, who formerly ran a bait and tackle store in the same plaza where we are now located. John loved the water and was passionate about providing anglers in the Ruskin area with top-notch service and bait for their fishing adventures.

After the opening of John's Bait and Tackle Store, our owner, Danielle Bonardel, opened a second location with her brother at Shell Pointe Marina. However, with the closing of their shop at Shell Point Marina and the passing of Danielle's brother, a new chapter unfolded. In the face of loss, Danielle sought to preserve the family tradition and continue the legacy her brother had started.

Between the two siblings, Danielle and John, they share a family of five boys and two girls. Thus, the 5 Boys Bait and Tackle shop came to fruition. Selecting the same plaza was a deliberate choice, echoing the importance of those cherished memories. We hope that one of the five sons will carry on the family legacy one day.
